Environmental Leaders Back Jennifer Esteen, RN
for Alameda County Board of Supervisors
Ashland, CA – Today, Jennifer Esteen, RN announced that she has received the endorsements of environmental champions APEN Action and author, educator, and world-renowned environmentalist Bill McKibben.
"Jennifer showed up for the fight to stop Big Oil in California; to me that's proof that she takes our climate crisis seriously, and understands that it requires standing up to the fossil fuel industry!” said Bill McKibben
APEN Action added, “APEN Action is proud to announce that we’ve endorsed Jennifer Esteen, RN in her run for Alameda County Supervisor. Jennifer is, and will continue to be, the fierce advocate our communities need, delivering social and environmental justice for all residents in Alameda County.”
On the Board of Supervisors, Esteen will ensure that each policy is considered through an environmental lens – and take into account how our actions affect disadvantaged and underserved communities that are most at risk from the severest effects of climate change.
“I'm so happy to have earned the support of the members and organizers working with APEN Action (Asian Pacific Environmental Network) because they are leaders in the pursuit of environmental justice throughout California,” said Esteen “I'm in this to partner with and represent communities who have been left behind.”
Esteen went on to add, “Bill McKibben has been our nation's leading champion for environmental justice, it's exciting that he is also an Alameda County resident. Having his support feels like authoritative recognition that my campaign is a campaign for the health of the people who live in our community and the wider world beyond District 4.”
