Jennifer Esteen, RN Announces Endorsement

of the Castro Valley Democratic Club

Ashland, CA – Today, Jennifer Esteen, RN announced that she has received the endorsement of the Castro Valley Democratic Club. The club serves the areas of Castro Valley, Ashland, Cherryland, San Lorenzo, and Fairview and is an official chartered club of the Alameda County Democratic Party.

In the last three election cycles, the club endorsed the incumbent’s re-election campaign, but at their June 27th meeting the club changed course. Esteen received 74% of the votes cast, locking in her endorsement for the March 2024 primary.

The club provided the following statement: “The Castro Valley Democratic Club is proud to support Jennifer Esteen, RN for Alameda County Supervisor District 4. We feel she is well qualified and someone who represents the progressive goals and interests of the Club.”

“It’s clear that all across Alameda County people want change, new energy, and a fresh vision. They are tired of the status quo,” said Esteen. “I am thrilled to be backed by the Castro Valley Democratic Club and look forward to working side-by-side with them as we address the needs of our unincorporated community and all of Alameda County.”

Esteen went on to add: “This endorsement is a testament to our campaign and the organizing power we have to defeat the incumbent.”

Jennifer Esteen is a registered nurse, mother, and community leader serving as Vice President of the Alameda Health System Board of Trustees and a member of the Eden Municipal Advisory Council. She has spent her career delivering care to the most vulnerable, including as a psychiatric nurse in the San Francisco General Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Room, where she saw firsthand the vicious cycle that people experience from diminished funding for mental health care. She currently works with San Francisco residents who have severe mental illness and need supportive housing, ongoing treatment, and help managing activities of daily living.

Jennifer has lived in the East Bay for 20 years and in Ashland with her wife and children since 2015.
