Public Bank East Bay, which is in its formative stages, said Monday that it hired longtime
credit union executive Scott Waite as CEO.
PBEB also said it has a strong slate of board candidates led by Co-Chairs Paulina Gonzalez-Brito, CEO of Rise Economy, formerly known as the California Reinvestment Coalition, and
Jennifer Esteen, a registered nurse and vice president of the Alameda County Health
System’s board of trustees.
“The East Bay is leading the public banking movement in reaching these milestones,” said
Debbie Notkin, chair of the board of Friends of the Public Bank East Bay, the nonprofit
leading the efforts to create the Public Bank East Bay.
